The people behind VANAKAN.
Vocals & Keys
Possessing a brilliant voice backed by classical opera-grade training, Van's journey on stage began in early childhood through national competitions. In the military, he met future bandmate Tigran Sahakyan, enduring the hardships of army service together from 2019 to 2021. After completing his service, Van bought his first keyboard — learning the instrument entirely from scratch. A chance reunion with Tigran at a Yerevan bar sparked a single question: "Do you want to play music together?" That moment marked the birth of VANAKAN.
Lead Guitar
Quiet in words, but explosive in melody, Arthur lets his guitar do the talking. His intricate, mind-bending solos are a standout feature of VANAKAN's live sound. Beyond music, he is a dedicated motorcycle enthusiast and tattoo artist. Joining as the third member, Arthur instantly locked into a creative flow with Van and Tigran — a bond that birthed some of the band's most beloved songs.
Bass Guitar
The ultimate addition to the lineup, Levon serves as the rhythmic backbone of VANAKAN. His arrival brought the band's sound full circle, seamlessly weaving his basslines between Tigran's heavy rhythms and Arthur's searing riffs. Off the stage, Levon is a graphic designer and the band's resident humorist.
Drums
Tigran's defining power lies in his relentless, high-energy playing style. An uncompromising music enthusiast, his rhythm fuels the band's drive. When paired with Van's broad vision for songwriting, Tigran's powerful drumming formed the original foundation of the core VANAKAN sound.
